Linde Engineering to Drive Hydrogen Mobility in the Netherlands

Linde Engineering to deliver hydrogen refueling stations to Fountain Fuel’s first three “zero-emission” energy stations in the Netherlands

Pullach, Germany, October 21, 2022 – Linde Engineering today announced it has signed a contract with Fountain Fuel for the delivery of three hydrogen refueling stations in the Netherlands. The technology is the centerpiece of Fountain Fuel’s first three zero-emission energy stations, which are expected to open by the end of 2023. The first opening will be in Amersfoort, followed by Rotterdam and Nijmegen.

Linde Engineering will supply three of its Twin IC90 hydrogen refueling systems. Each of them is equipped with two Ionic Compressors to provide gas at the right outlet pressure for refueling passenger cars (700 bar) as well as larger vehicles, such as trucks and buses (350 bar). To date, Linde Engineering has built and delivered over 200 hydrogen refueling stations around the world.

“Fountain Fuel is building hydrogen refueling stations in locations where there is guaranteed demand, initially from local governments, entrepreneurs and private frontrunners. When selecting hydrogen refueling technology, we chose Linde Engineering based on the company’s track record in quality, reliability, efficiency and safety,” says Steef Severijn, member of the board of directors at Fountain Fuel.

“This project demonstrates Linde’s clear commitment to decarbonizing mobility through industry-leading technology and reliable solutions. We’re excited to join forces with Fountain Fuel to work together towards advancing a low-carbon society, in line with our own climate objectives,” says John van der Velden, Senior Vice President Global Sales & Technology at Linde Engineering.
