Siemens And Vestas Turbines: PNE Group Commissions Two Further Wind Farms

Cuxhaven, Germany – PNE AG has commissioned two further wind farms in Hesse and Schleswig-Holstein. The PNE Group is thus continuing the systematic expansion of its own operations portfolio. With the addition of the two wind farms to the PNE Group’s own-operations portfolio, the total rated output of the wind farms increases to 412.1 MW.

The Schenklengsfeld wind farm is located in the Hessian municipality of Schenklengsfeld, while the Heidmoor wind farm is located in the Schleswig-Holstein municipalities of Heidmoor and Nützen.

At PNE AG’s Schenklengsfeld wind farm, three Siemens SG155 wind turbines, each with a nominal capacity of 6.6 MW, generate wind power. Two of the turbines already went into operation in January 2024.

At the Heidmoor wind farm, WKN GmbH, a subsidiary of PNE AG, has commissioned three Vestas V162 turbines and three Vestas V150 turbines. The turbines each have a nominal output of 6 MW. This means that the Heidmoor wind farm has a total nominal output of 36 MW.

“The commissioning of the Schenklengsfeld and Heidmoor wind farms are further important milestones on the way to our strategic goal of having wind farms and photovoltaic plants with an output of 1,500 MW/MWp in operation or under construction by 2027,” said PNE CEO Markus Lesser, who will leave the company at the end of July.

A further nine wind farms with a capacity of 226 MW are currently under construction. Together with the Group’s wind farms in operation, a total of approx. 638 MW are in operation or under construction. The PNE Group is thus further expanding its targeted market position as an Independent Power Producer (IPP).

Markus Lesser, CEO of PNE for many years, will leave the company with effect from July 31, 2024. Following a decision by the PNE Supervisory Board, the current Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Per Hornung Pedersen, will take over the position of CEO on an interim basis with effect from August 1, 2024 and initially until March 31, 2025. The search for a new, permanent CEO has not yet been completed, but is at an advanced stage according to PNE. Per Hornung Pedersen will step down from the Supervisory Board and Marc van’t Noordende will take his place at the head of the Supervisory Board until a replacement has been found.
