Deutsche Windtechnik Bundles Onshore Service Units

Deutsche Windtechnik AG is restructuring and reorganizing its service unit. For this purpose, Deutsche Windtechnik Service GmbH & Co. KG and Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service GmbH and merge into a single onshore business unit.

Hauke Behrends (previously Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik Service GmbH & Co. KG) and Severin Mielimonka (previously Managing Director of Deutsche Windtechnik X-Service GmbH) will jointly take over the management of the new entity.

The merger means more than changes in the company form, according to Deutsche Windtechnik. Current processes will be evaluated, simplified and standardized at the various levels, and technical competencies will be bundled. “The merger will strengthen our competitiveness, and this will also benefit our clients. For example, in the future we will manage all of the wind turbines in their portfolios in a centralised manner”, reports Hauke Behrends.

The merger will also optimise service operations in the future, for example by merging the service locations. This means that start-up times can be shorter in some cases and on-call services can be organised more flexibly. Deutsche Windtechnik emphasises that there will be no job cuts. Rather, the merger is an effective building block to counteract the existing shortage of skilled workers.

“The merger is a gigantic project that we are putting a lot of effort into, motivated by our passion for professional maintenance. We see it as an opportunity to review and improve all of our business activities in onshore service. For this reason, the merger will be an ongoing process in some areas well into 2025,” adds Executive Board member Matthias Brandt from the parent company Deutsche Windtechnik AG.
