BlueFloat Energy and Origin Energy have announced a partnership for the development of a 1.7GW offshore wind farm in Australia. The project, called Eastern Rise, will be built off the coast of Hunter-Port Stephens, New South Wales.
A feasibility licence application for the initiative was submitted to local authorities last month and a response from the government is expected next year.
The companies plan Eastern Rise to be operational for a period of 30 years, producing enough power to meet the demands of approximately 825,000 homes annually.
